Suzan Colon

Suzan ColonBeach Glass is the result of Suzan Colón’s love affair with romance novels, which began in high school but was put on hold by a number of amazing projects.

As a magazine writer, Suzan was Senior Editor at O, the Oprah Magazine, and she contributed to Harper’s Bazaar, Details, Rolling Stone, Jane, and many other publications.

Suzan’s books include three young adult novels based on the hit TV series Smallville, and the inspirational memoir Cherries in Winter: My Family’s Recipe for Hope in Hard Times. She wrote Cherries after finding her Nana’s recipes and making them with her mother while learning about the family’s resilience.

Being laid off and becoming self-employed gave Suzan the chance to write her first romance novel at last. A lifelong dream will become a reality when Beach Glass is published by BelleBooks/Belle Bridge Books in February 2014.

Suzan wrote the inspirational memoir Cherries in Winter: My Family's Recipe for Hope in Hard Times as a gift to her mother and Nana, resilient women who taught her about strength, resilience, and how to say you were "Fabulous, never better!” whether that was true or not. After the family memoir was published, Suzan returned to her first love: writing romantic fiction. Beach Glass is the first result of a love affair with romance novels that began back in high school.

Suzan wrote three original young adult novels based on the hit TV series Smallville, making sure there was plenty of romance between Clark and Lana. A former Senior Editor for O, The Oprah Magazine and contributor to Jane, Details, Rolling Stone, Harper's Bazaar, and many other magazines, Suzan’s essays have been featured in three Oprah Magazine anthologies. Suzan has appeared on The Today Show, The Early Show, and National Public Radio. She is also a contributor to The Huffington Post.
