Clara Wimberly

Clara WimberlyWhen Clara Wimberly left a career with the U.S. Forest Service, she decided to pursue her lifetime dream of becoming a published writer.

Her first book, THE EMERALD TEARS OF FOXFIRE MANOR, a gothic, was published by Zebra in 1990. Since then she has published more than 20 books in a variety of work, from gothic to historical, mainstream and suspense. She has written for publishers Zebra, Pinnacle, HarperCollins and Silhouette and Belle Books. Several of her books appeared on National Best Seller lists and two placed in Georgia Romance Writers' Maggie Awards. Her books have been published in several languages – Russian, Chinese, Spanish, Italian and German and have appeared in over a dozen different countries.

Clara writes in a one-room cabin, built for her by her husband and sons, in the woods near her home. Surrounded by her favorite collection of teapots and family memorabilia and with a fire in the fireplace, she finds the atmosphere she needs for writing. She is the mother of three children and grandmother of four – two boys and two girls. Her interests include American history, herb gardening, counted cross stitch, traveling, genealogy, collecting old teapots and of course reading.
