Praise from Lynne Greene, the librarian at Davis High School in Yakima, WA--

Marilee Brothers, author and former Davis teacher, visited the Davis Library on October 27th to talk about her newest novel Moonstone. The library was turned into an "author forum" lecture hall for three hours. Ms. Brothers entertained students during her three "presentations" and wowed members of the Davis English department, as well as fledging student authors, with her off-beat sense of humor as she talked about how to get published in a one-hour discussion forum.

The students were fascinated as Ms. Brothers introduced Allie Emerson, the fifteen year-old main character of Moonstone, who struggles to keep her act together in the small town of Peacock Flats, Washington. They were particularly taken with Allie's dippy guardian angel and laughed out loud at the realistic dialogue.

We purchased ten copies of Moonstone, which has had excellent reviews and is doing well as an ebook, and all ten books are in constant circulation. My students are already "bugging" me about the next in the series which will be published by Belle Books in the spring of 2009. Come on, Marilee, can't you write any faster? What is going to happen with Allie and Junior? ...inquiring minds at Davis High School want to know!
